About Night Sky Alert

Most nights, there's nothing special overhead. Some nights there's an aurora within reach, a rocket climbing through twilight, or a meteor shower under a dark, moonless sky, and most people only find out the next morning.

Night Sky Alert checks the sky for every city we cover through the night and boils it down to one honest question: is it worth going outside? The answer comes with its reasons, so you can decide for yourself.

It's free. It's built on public scientific data (see credits), and the formula is fully published. We'd rather tell you to stay in than send you out into the cold for nothing.
